Georg Schipper

Georg Heinrich Schipper (born June 12, 1878 in Sillenstede ; † July 27, 1972 ibid) was a German farmer and, as a politician, a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament .

Life

Schipper was the son of the farrier Simon Gerhard Schipper (1848–1924) and his wife Marie geb. Folkerts. After attending elementary, private and agricultural schools, he completed an agricultural apprenticeship on his parents' farm. By taking on a number of honorary positions, he was managing director of the Neuende dairy cooperative from 1906 to 1914, as well as a local councilor, he gained a certain prominence on the local political level and was then sent to the newly founded state settlement office in Oldenburg on March 1, 1920 . In continuation of this activity he then worked in the Oldenburg Domain Office until 1926 and became its head from 1932. During his work, Schipper was able to set up several hundred new farmer positions and neighboring settlements as well as 23 state domains and a number of residential colonies , such as in Kniphausersiel and Sanderbusch .

At the same time he was from 1911 to 1919, probably within the left-liberal Progressive People's Party , a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament. In the Weimar Republic , too, Schipper again had a seat in the state parliament from June 1920, but gave it up again in November 1920 because of his professional activity.

In addition, Schipper also dealt with family and regional historical studies.

family

From April 30, 1901, Schipper and Regine Harms (1878–1956) were the daughter of the farmer Harm Harms and Johanne Margarethe born. Onken, used Regensdorff married. The couple had five sons.
