Georg Stoll (politician, 1828)

Georg Stoll (born January 20, 1828 in Altenkirchen (Westerwald) ; † July 29, 1883 , drowned in the Rhine, landed the following day near Stürzelberg in the mayor's office of Zons ) was a builder, senator and member of the Reichstag of the German Empire .

Life

Georg Stoll was born on January 20, 1828 in Altenkirchen as the son of the tax inspector Johannes Martin Stoll and Franziska née Lessmann. He later married Emma Rühs. At the beginning of the 1870s he moved to Greifswald . There he was a builder and senator from 1879 to 1883.

On June 10, 1882, Stoll won a substitute election in the Reichstag constituency Stralsund 2 ( Greifswald , Grimmen ) as a candidate for the German Progressive Party . On July 29, 1883, under unclear circumstances, he drowned in the Rhine. His body was washed up on July 30th near Stürzelberg in the mayor's office of Zons. On August 5, 1883, after the identification of the body, he was buried in the Zons cemetery.
