Georg Thies (actor, 1867)

Georg Thies (born May 1, 1867 in Hanover ; † March 1917 there ) was a German theater actor and director . The humorist also appeared as a teacher and director at private performances.

Life

Georg Thies was born in Hanover in 1867 as the son of the actor Ernst Clamour Thies (1830–1895), with whom he completed both his commercial training and received his acting lessons.

In the early days of the German Empire , the youngster made his debut in Hamburg in 1883 at the local theater .

Presumably 1890-1892 Thies worked in Dortmund before in Rostock at the local municipal theater became active.

In 1896 and 1897 Thies worked at the Lübeck City Theater in Lübeck , but also became a member of the Bremen City Theater in 1897 . In 1908 the artist also celebrated his 25th stage anniversary in Bremen .

Georg Thies died at the time of the First World War in March 1917 in Hanover before he was 50 years old.
