Georg Weidinger
Georg Weidinger (born December 14, 1968 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author, doctor and musician.
Life
Weidinger received his first piano lessons at the age of six. He attended the Schottengymnasium in Vienna, where he passed the Matura in 1987 . He received his medical training at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 1995 . He completed his musical training at the Conservatory Private University of the City of Vienna and the Vienna University of Music in the subjects of piano , composition and electroacoustics , which he completed with distinction in 1996 with a thesis on " Xenakis and Stochastic Music". Weidinger became known as a musician with interpretations of 20th century piano music as well as in a duo with Adelhard Roidinger . The bassist called him “experimental Keith Jarrett ” because of his solo piano concerts ; his solo concerts are documented on eleven solo CDs (published by Ö1 , Extraplatte and on his own label klaviermusik.at ).
Since 2002 he has been holding seminars, lectures and training courses; In 2012 he started teaching traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) at MedChin in Vienna; since 2015 he has been President of the Austrian Society for Traditional Chinese Medicine; since 2016 he has been running his own courses in Wiener Neustadt and since 2018 in Bad Sauerbrunn . He runs a practice for TCM in Bad Sauerbrunn and lives as a doctor, author and freelance musician with his wife and three children in Forchtenstein , Burgenland .
In 1996 and 1998 Weidinger won the Luigi Russolo international composition competition in Varese .
