Georg von Detten (lawyer)

Georg Karl Julius Richard von Detten (born June 9, 1837 in Werne ; † March 30, 1919 in Paderborn ) was a German judge, regional historian and Prussian member of the Center Party .

Detten attended high school in Paderborn . He then studied in Bonn , Göttingen and Berlin . After completing his studies, he joined the judiciary. He completed the preparatory service and became a court assessor in 1863. He then worked as a provisional at the district court in Warburg . From 1868 Detten was a district judge in Bünde . In 1872 he was transferred to the Hamm district court and in 1879 to the Hagen district court as district judge . In 1888 Detten moved to the Paderborn Regional Court .

He was a member of the Center Party and initially from 1882 to 1888 a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Minden 4 ( Warburg and Höxter ). From 1894 to 1908 he was a member of parliament for the constituency Arnsberg 2 ( Olpe , Meschede ).

Detten was a board member of the Westphalian Provincial Association for Science and Art in Münster and the Association for the History and Archeology of Westphalia (Paderborn Department).

Detten was the father of the SA leader of the same name Georg von Detten and the ministerial official Hermann von Detten .
