Georg von Tettau

Georg Abel Ernst Freiherr von Tettau (born September 15, 1837 in Tolks , Preussisch Eylau district , East Prussia ; † May 6, 1930 in Königsberg ) was a German landowner , farmer and politician .

His parents were Alfred Christoph von Tettau (born January 26, 1810; † April 26, 1893) and his wife Elisabeth Emmeline Alexandrine Körner (born December 11, 1812; † September 28, 1884). His father had received the Prussian confirmation of the title of baron on August 28, 1865.

Tettau was deputy chairman of the East Prussian Chamber of Agriculture from 1896 to 1919 . From 1902 he was a member of the Prussian manor house . In 1913 he was appointed (last) castle captain of Königsberg by the emperor . In 1916 he was appointed the last chief marshal in the Kingdom of Prussia . Tettau was President of the Provincial Parliament from 1917 to 1919 .

He was a legal knight and a member of the convent of the Order of St. John . On his 90th birthday, he was made Honorary Commander of the Order.

Georg married Magda Martha Elisabeth Amalie Freiin von Printz on October 2, 1865 (* July 6, 1848). The marriage had three children:

  • Georg Alfred Otto Ernst (born April 25, 1867)
  • Dietrich Hans Eberhard (born November 27, 1868)
  • Magdalene Hedwig Betty Anna (born February 16, 1870)
