George Ernest Papendiek
George Ernest Papendiek (also George Ernest Papendieck , born July 22, 1788 in Windsor , † February 5, 1835 in Bremen ) was a German-English consul , draftsman and painter .
biography
Papendiek came from a family whose ancestors with the Hanoverian electors moved to England than this with George I. kings from the Kingdom of Great Britain were. His parents were the musician Christopher Papendiek and his wife Charlotte Papendiek geb. Albert, lady-in-waiting to Queen Charlotte of England .
He himself initially received training as a businessman. In 1817 he came to Bremen and painted his first views of the city here. In 1821 he returned to Bremen again. He created a series of watercolors with many Bremen motifs. In 1825 he became Vice Consul of Great Britain and Hanover Consul in Bremen. From 1817 to 1821 some pictures were made as lithographs under the title "Six sketches in Germany" .
