George Folsey Junior

George Joseph Folsey Jr. (born January 17, 1939 in Los Angeles ) is an American film editor and film producer and son of the cameraman George J. Folsey .

life and work

After graduating from Pomona College , he first worked as an editor for the television station KABC-TV in Los Angeles . At that time he founded a company that produced, among other things, Laugh-In sequences for film and television productions. He then worked as a producer and editor for film and television films. In 1976, for example, he cut the thriller Revenge from Beyond .

Folsey has worked frequently on films by director John Landis as producer and editor, so on Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) and Blues Brothers (1980). In Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) Folsey was involved as associate producer and was considered illegal in July 1982 at night shooting two as extras employed children and the actor Vic Morrow by a helicopter accident came together with Landis and others because of negligent homicide accused. In May 1987 all of the accused were acquitted.

In 2003, Folsey starred in the drama Basic, a truth behind every lie . Folsey was also responsible for editing the 2005 film Hostel and its sequels Hostel 2 (2007) and Hostel 3 (2011) .

His son Ryan Folsey (* 1970) also works as a film editor.
