George WM Kamba

George WM Kamba (born September 24, 1927 , † June 29, 1972 in Kampala ) was a Ugandan politician and diplomat .

Life

George WM Kamba studied civil engineering and practiced this profession from 1949 to 1958 as a civil servant in Kampala. In 1958 he was elected to the Parliament of Uganda for the Uganda National Congress . In 1963 he was appointed general secretary of the Bukedi District Administration (now Kapchorwa District ).

From October 7, 1964 to 1968, he was High Commissioner in New Delhi . From 1969 to 1972 he was ambassador in Bonn .

In 1972 Idi Amin appointed him to the board of directors of the East African Posts and Telecommunications Board . On June 29, 1972, he was kidnapped from a hotel foyer by employees of the State Research Bureau (SRB) and disappeared.
