George William Coleman

George William Coleman (born February 1, 1939 in Fall River ) is an American clergyman and Bishop Emeritus of Fall River .

Life

The rector of the Pontifical North America College , Francis Frederick Reh , ordained him a priest on December 16, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Fall River on April 30, 2003. The Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America , Gabriel Montalvo Higuera , donated him episcopal ordination on July 22nd of the same year; Co- consecrators were Sean Patrick O'Malley OFMCap , Archbishop of Boston , and Daniel Anthony Cronin , Archbishop of Hartford .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on July 3, 2014.
