Arno Flor

Arno Flor (born October 31, 1925 in Berlin , † November 20, 2008 in Baden-Baden ; pseudonyms: Addy Flor , Addi Flor ) was a German composer , arranger , conductor and guitarist .

Arno Flor studied in Berlin. From 1948 he was a guitarist, arranger and conductor of the Rias Dance Orchestra of Werner Müller busy. From 1954 he worked freelance for Franz Thon , Erwin Lehn and Robert Stolz . In 1957 he supported Lothar Olias and orchestrated his film music for The Great Chance . In the 1960s he arranged parts of the film music for various Karl May films for Martin Böttcher . As orchestra leader, he accompanied numerous well-known artists such as Alexandra , Heidi Brühl , Dorthe , Die 3 Travelers , France Gall , Greetje Kauffeld , Leo Leandros , Vicky Leandros , Gitta Lind , Ulli Martin , Vico Torriani and Gerhard Wendland on their recordings. In January 1963, Flor recorded the album Luiz Bonfá e Caterina Valente in Portuguese and Italian together with bossa nova pioneers Luiz Bonfá and Caterina Valente .

In addition, Flor founded his own dance and entertainment orchestra in the 1970s, with which he recorded several albums using the Quadrophonie-SQ-Matrix method . He preferred to work on classical themes from Beethoven , Chopin , Tchaikovsky and Verdi .
