George von Schröder

John Henry George Freiherr von Schröder (born February 24, 1867 in Neuhaus an der Oste , † April 13, 1940 in Hamburg ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

George von Schröder was the son of Karl Freiherr von Schröder and Bertha geb. Müller. After attending the Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Hamburg , he studied law and camera studies at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1889 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After completing his studies, he entered the Prussian civil service and became a government assessor in the Poznan district government . From 1905 to 1917 he was district administrator of the Neuhaus an der Oste district in the province of Hanover . On July 1, 1917, he moved to the district of Eckernförde in the province of Schleswig-Holstein as district administrator . He held the office until 1920. Most recently he lived as a farmer on Fernsicht near Kellinghusen. His first marriage was to Helene Dieckmann, with whom he had a daughter. With Emily born Merck, widowed Countess von Unruh , he had been married for a second time since 1912. They had a son.
