The von Unruh family from Silesia and Saxony
history
The similarities in the Silesian and Saxon coats of arms suggest a tribal relationship between the families. In the 17th century the name of the family members was Polonized as Unrug in Greater Poland .
Hans Siegmund von Unruh (1644–1694) from the Wendtstadt-Linden line is considered the founder of the baronial line. His son Johann Wilhelm von Unruh (1668–1728) owned the manor Wągroda (Wendstadt, Guhrau district ). The confirmation of the coat of arms for the elevation to the Bohemian gentry took place on January 14, 1719 by the Imperial Chancellery in Vienna. Today's name bearers in the Polish area mostly live in Poznan . A family association of the barons and gentlemen von Unruh, Unruhe and Unrug is registered in Berlin-Charlottenburg.
coat of arms
The coat of arms shows a red lion on a gold shield. Various noble dynasties come into consideration as the model of the lion. According to Siebmacher's coat of arms, the Saxon and Silesian coats of arms differ only in the crest, which suggests family relationships. A crest represents a millstone with peacock feathers in red, gold and silver. There is a red paw on each side of the stone.
The increased baronial coat of arms is quartered . Fields 1 and 4 each show half a silver eagle in red at the slit. Fields 2 and 3 are split in red and black. The heart shield shows the original family coat of arms with the lion. There are three helmets: The first helmet ornament consists of three ostrich feathers, one golden between two red ones. The associated helmet covers are red and gold. The second crest shows a silver anchor with black and red helmet covers. The third crest is a silver dice between red and black horns.
