Kaspar Rudolph von Unruh

Kaspar Rudolph von Unruh (also: Unrest , born May 18, 1710 in Griesel in the district of Krossen ; † December 23, 1781 ) was a Prussian major and chief of grenadier battalion No. 2 .

Life

His parents were Sebastian von Unruh († 1749) from the Niedewitz house and his wife Anna Barbara, née von Sack from the Heinersdorf house.

Military career

Unruh came into Prussian service as a cadet in 1725 and became a private corporal in the infantry regiment "von Hessen-Kassel" . In 1730 he became an ensign and rose to prime lieutenant until 1739 . On June 25, 1740 he came to the newly established infantry regiment "de Camas" . With this he took part in the Silesian Wars .

After the war he became a captain on February 20, 1746 and was transferred to the grenadier battalion "von Ingersleben" as a major on October 5, 1750 . The battalion consisted of the grenadier companies of the infantry regiment "von Hessen-Kassel" and the garrison battalion "la Motte" . During the Seven Years' War Unruh fought in the Battle of Leuthen and was able to capture a battery there . He also took part in the fights at Maxen 's.

On May 21, 1757 Unruh became the commander of the grenadier battalion "von Ingersleben". He was stationed in the Kranichschanze in the fortress Glatz when the Austrian Lieutenant Field Marshal Laudon conquered the fortress on July 26th, 1760 and was taken prisoner. After the war, an investigation by the court martial revealed that Unruh had fought with his battalion to the end.

Due to illness, he received his farewell on June 24, 1763 after the war. Unruh inherited the Niederwitz estate after his father's death. In 1776 he first sold a share to Johanne Henriette Eleonore von Stosch , and later also the rest.

Unruh married Luise Juliane von Zobeltitz (born January 7, 1716) from the Selchow family in Schönow in 1741 . The following children were born from the marriage:

After the death of his first wife, he married Henriette Charlotte von Sack from the Heinersdorf family on February 14, 1758. No children are known from this marriage.
