Karl Philipp von Unruh (born March 6, 1731 in Crossen an der Oder , † September 30, 1805 in Bayreuth ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and chief of the infantry regiment "von Graevenitz" .

Life

origin

His parents were the Prussian lieutenant Ludwig Philipp von Unruh (* around 1706–1731), heir to Cunitz and Starost von Gnesen , and his wife Christiane Eleonora, née von Bruyn (1703–1770).

Military background

He began his career as a page to General Hans Otto von Treskow , chief of the von Treskow infantry regiment . On December 18, 1750 he became a private corporal in the "von Jeetze" garrison regiment and was promoted to second lieutenant until mid-July 1756 . During the Seven Years' War he took part in the battles of Prague , Leuthen , Hochkirch and Torgau (wounded) as well as in the battles of Holtitz, Neustadt, Jauernigl and Boitzenburg.

On February 12, 1758 he was transferred to the "von Manteuffel" infantry regiment and promoted to prime lieutenant in mid-June 1761 . He was repeatedly on advertising after the war . On November 3, 1768 he was staff captain and on September 6, 1773 captain and company commander . Unruh took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession , was promoted to lieutenant colonel by the end of May 1789, and on October 9, 1790 was commander of the von Tiedemann infantry regiment . With this association he marched to Silesia in 1790. On May 23, 1791 he was promoted to colonel and awarded the order Pour le Mérite on June 4, 1792 on the occasion of the revue in Stargard .

On July 6, 1795, the king appointed him chief of the Graevenitz infantry regiment and sous-inspector of the Frankish troops. On January 2, 1796, he was promoted to major general with a patent from January 2, 1796, and three years later Unruh received the Great Red Eagle Order . On June 7, 1803, he was appointed lieutenant general. He died on September 30, 1805 in Bayreuth.

Unruh married Henriette Dorothea Elisabeth von Kameke (1745–1781) from the Cartzig family on October 26, 1773 in Köslin . The couple had the following children:

His second wife was Eleonore Hedwig von Manstein (1749–1796) on July 31, 1782. She was probably a daughter of Christoph Hermann von Manstein . The couple had the following children:
