Hans Otto von Treskow

Hans Otto von Tresckow (* June 22, 1692 at Niegripp Castle; † March 7, 1756 in Stettin ) was a Prussian major general , chief of the infantry regiment "Anhalt-Zerbst" , commander of the fortress Stettin and cathedral prelate of Cammin .

Life

His parents were Otto Hilmar von Tresckow († 1719) and his wife Anna Sabine von der Groeben, a daughter of Adam Christoph von der Groeben (1613–1662).

Military career

At the age of 21 Tresckow joined the Prussian Army and was promoted to captain in the "Anhalt-Zerbst" infantry regiment until mid-March 1713 . During the Pomeranian Campaign in 1715/16 he took part in the siege of Stralsund and rose to colonel until 1742 . In November 1745 he was promoted to major general.

In the First Silesian War he fought in the siege of Prague and in the battle of Hohenfriedberg . He then fought with General von Nassau in Upper Silesia . In March 1747 he became chief of the "Anhalt-Zerbst" infantry regiment. In January 1751 also received the prebende from Cammin. In October 1752 he was given the post of commandant of the Szczecin Fortress . In 1754 he sought his release because of his illness and received it with a pension . He died in 1756.

family

Treskow was married twice. First with a von Stoss and in 1747 he married Johanna Juliane Sophia von Lepel (1714–1770). She was the widow of District Administrator Georg Wilhelm von Schöning and daughter of General Otto Gustav von Lepel . Both marriages remained childless.
