Bad Georgenschwaige
The Bad Georgenschwaige is an outdoor pool in the Munich district of Schwabing-West on the northern edge of the Luitpoldpark on Petuelring . It is operated by the Stadtwerke München .

The summer pool has a 50-meter-long sports pool with an extra area for the one-meter diving board, a 25-meter non-swimmer pool and a paddling pool. There is a parent / child area, children's slides, a playground and a large sunbathing area with other leisure options such as a trampoline and table tennis. The bathroom is barrier-free. There is a beer garden in the entrance area.
The city magazine Prinz lists the pool as one of the most beautiful outdoor pools in Munich and praises the shade of the old tree population. The Süddeutsche Zeitung describes it as "Munich's simplest outdoor pool".
It is located on Belgradstrasse 195, near U2 / Tram 12 / StadtBus 140, 141,142, 144 Scheidplatz or the U3 / U8 / Tram 27 / StadtBus 173, 177, 178 Petuelring . The Nymphenburg-Biederstein Canal flows past in the north.
history
Bad Georgenschwaige was designed in 1934 by Karl Meitinger together with Fritz Beblo at Am Riesenfeld , and a swimming pool with a diving tower was added in 1936.
It was named after a Schwaige owned by the Schäftlarn monastery , who was named after St. Georg St. Georgenschwaige .
