Georgij Alexandrowitsch Makazaria (born May 9, 1974 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is an Austrian musician and actor of Russian origin. His parents are from Georgia .

Life

Makazaria has lived in Vienna since 1989 . In his youth he learned to play the piano and taught himself to play the guitar . As a musician he worked in the bands New Village , Dawn of Decay , Stahlhammer and Soyuz . He also worked as the owner of a recording studio with the band Ohrrausch , among others , who had a hit in 2000 with “Siegerstraße”.

He also played roles in musicals and shows such as F @ lco - A Cyber ​​Show (by Joshua Sobol and Paulus Manker ) in the Ronacher in Vienna , Jesus Christ Superstar and Das Dschungelbuch . In 2013 he played the ghost from the lamp in the musical Aladdin and the Magic Lamp at the Graz Dschinn Opera .

His band project Russkaja became known throughout Austria through the album release Kasatchok Superstar and the weekly appearances on the late night show Willkommen Österreich and went on a European tour in May 2008. Since then, five more albums have been released.

In the third part of the Dark Future radio play series HumAnemy , he can be heard in a supporting role. In 2016 Makazaria took part in the dance show Dancing Stars and took 3rd place in the final with his dance partner Maria Santner .

In 2015 Makazaria founded the band project Russian Gentlemen Club together with the Russian pianist Roman Grinberg , the Ukrainian accordionist Alexander Shevchenko and the Russian violinist Aliosha Biz.
