Gerald Thomas Walsh (born April 25, 1942 in New York City , USA ) is an American Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in New York .

Life

Gerald Thomas Walsh received the sacrament of ordination for the Archbishopric of New York on May 27, 1967 from the Archbishop of New York, Francis Cardinal Spellman .

On 28 June 2004 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Altiburus and auxiliary bishop in New York. The Archbishop of New York, Edward Michael Cardinal Egan , donated him episcopal ordination on September 21 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus in New York, Patrick Sheridan , and the Auxiliary Bishop in New York, Robert Anthony Brucato .

Archbishop Timothy Dolan appointed Walsh Vicar General of the Archdiocese.

On September 5, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
