Gerard Kanduth (born September 4, 1958 in Lienz ) is an Austrian lawyer and writer .

Life

Gerard Kanduth spent his childhood in Kötschach-Mauthen in the Gailtal , attended from 1968 to 1976 as a boarding school student of the Bundeskonvikt Lienz (as a so-called "Konviktler") the modern language grammar school in Lienz and studied from 1977 to 1983 law at the University of Vienna . He was appointed judge in 1987 and has been working as an appeal judge in civil matters at the Klagenfurt Regional Court since 1996 . Kanduth is a member of the IG authors authors and the Carinthian Writers 'Association , now: Carinthian Writers' Association, which he headed from 2002 to 2016 as President. In his often haiku-like , aphoristic thought poetry , he encounters everyday inner and outer life with wit and a feeling for language, but also with social commitment and now mainly writes essayistic and satirical prose. In 2016 he received the City of Klagenfurt's Culture Prize for his life's work.
