Gerardo Díaz Vázquez

Gerardo Díaz Vázquez (born May 25, 1966 in La Angostura, Jalisco ) is a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Tacámbaro .

Life

Gerardo Díaz Vázquez studied at the seminary of the diocese of San Juan de los Lagos and was ordained a priest on May 1, 1993 . After further studies he obtained a license in family pastoral care at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Rome.

In addition to activities in parish pastoral care, most recently in Tepatitlán , he was responsible in various functions for family pastoral care in the diocese and at the level of the church province of Guadalajara. He also served as prefect of studies and professor at the seminary of San Juan de los Lagos.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Tacámbaro on August 22, 2014. He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Christophe Pierre , on October 22 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of San Juan de los Lagos , Felipe Salazar Villagrana , and the Bishop of Zamora , Javier Navarro Rodríguez .
