Gerardo Rabajda , full name Gerardo Daniel Rabajda Maino , (born August 13, 1967 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player .
Career
societies
The 1.82 meter tall goalkeeper Rabajda belonged to the team of Club Atlético Peñarol at the beginning of his career from 1990 to mid-1994 . The "Aurinegros" won the Uruguayan championship in 1993. They also reached the finals for the Copa Conmebol in the same year . There, the Montevideans with Rabajda in goal were only defeated in the second leg after penalty shoot-out against Botafogo Rio de Janeiro . He then moved to the Chilean club Unión Española , for which he was active until 1995. From 1995 to mid-1999, Puebla FC from Mexico was his employer. For the Mexicans, he played 92 league games. Then he signed the FC Sevilla . He made his debut with the Spanish on November 10, 1999 in the cup match against CA Osasuna . He was last used on December 19 that year in the league game against Real Oviedo . Overall, he was involved in two games in the Primera División in the 1999/2000 season and in two Copa del Rey matches at the club from the Andalusian capital . In early January 2001 he was loaned to Rosario Central until the end of June 2002 . From the Apertura 2002 until the end of 2003 he played for Danubio FC . The last stop in his career was in the 2004 season at Centro Atlético Fénix . There he was used three times in the Primera División . He is also said to have stood in the ranks of the Miramar Misiones team . After retiring, he worked as an entrepreneur and player's consultant for, among others, Jonathan Rodríguez , Egidio Arévalo , Juan Manuel Salgueiro and Diego Ifrán .

Rabajda was part of the Uruguayan U-20 selection that took part in the U-20 South American Championship in Colombia in 1987 .
