Gerd Kröncke

Gerd Kröncke (born January 8, 1943 in Hanover ) is a German journalist .

Life

Gerd Kröncke was born in Hanover in 1943 and grew up there. After an apprenticeship in the photo trade, military service and various trips followed. He worked on the assembly line at the Volkswagen engine plant in Hanover, and also tried his hand at photography.

After completing an internship at the Hanover Press , he became the state correspondent for Spiegel in Hanover in 1967 and in Düsseldorf in 1975. In 1981 he moved to Süddeutsche as a state correspondent for North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1986 to 1998 he was in London as a correspondent for the SZ , then as a France correspondent in Paris until his retirement. These two stations are also reflected in his books, which are mostly collections of reports, travel impressions and his own photographs.
