Gerhard Hoyermann

Gerhard Hoyermann (born November 30, 1835 in Hoheneggelsen , Lower Saxony ; † June 11, 1911 at Gut Lohne, in Burgwedel / Isernhagen near Hanover ) was a German entrepreneur and member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the National Liberal Party from 1893 to 1908.

Life

After studying pharmacy at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , Hoyermann took over his father's pharmacy in 1859. In 1861 he founded the savings and advance payment fund (today: Volksbank Hildesheimer Börde) and became its president at the age of 26. As a pharmacist in Hoheneggelsen, he developed the fertilizer " Thomas flour " for agriculture from phosphorus-containing slag from a blast furnace . In 1881 he founded the Peiner Phosphatfabrik, which was followed by other factories in Germany, Bohemia and England. In 1890 he acquired the Schönhagen estate in Lippe, and in 1896 the Lohne estate in Isernhagen near Hanover. Both goods served as experimental goods for the development of fertilizers. From 1897 he took up residence on the Lohne estate.

After he had been elected to the Prussian House of Representatives in the constituency of Hildesheim- Peine in 1893, he was a member of the House of Representatives from 1904 for the constituency of Lüneburg / Celle- Burgdorf until 1908. From 1898 to 1903 he was a member of the central board of the National Liberal Party .

Gerhard Hoyermann was married to Johanne Eberhardine Heidelberg (1835–1890) for the first time in 1859, and they had ten children. In 1895 he married Erna Augusta Quitzrau (1873-1919), with whom he had four children. He was buried in the mausoleum of the Lohne estate.
