Gerhard Knoll

Gerhard Knoll (born January 30, 1941 in Berlin-Lichterfelde ; † November 2009 ) was a German historian and librarian .

Knoll studied from 1963 to 1969 History , German Studies and Auxiliary Historical Sciences at the University of Berlin , where he in 1971 Johannes Schultze with a thesis on St. John Coming Advertise doctorate was. He then joined the library service and was most recently head of the manuscript department of the University Library in Bremen . There he was u. a. for the restoration and facsimile edition of the Evangelistar Heinrich III. responsible.

He put together an extensive library of around 9,000 volumes on Frederick the Great and his time, which the Berlin Palace Administration acquired in 2009 .
