Gerhard Reinfeld

Gerhard Reinfeld (born October 30, 1944 in Forst (Lausitz) ) is a German engineer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Gerhard Reinfeld's parents divorced after a few years of marriage. His father married a second time, which is why Gerhard still has three half-siblings. After graduating from high school in 1963, Reinfeld began studying at the University of Architecture and Construction in Weimar , which he completed in 1970 with a diploma in building material process engineering. He received his doctorate in 1975 as Dr.-Ing. at the Hochschule für Bauwesen in Leipzig ( dissertation : Investigations into the appropriate use of organic high polymers as cover materials for roof coverings with special consideration of elastomeric foils ) and in 1983 Dr. sc. at the Technical Engineering University in Cottbus (dissertation: Investigations into the development of mountable roofs for industrial housing ). He then worked as a lecturer for construction technology at the Hochschule für Bauwesen (HfB) in Cottbus. In addition, he was district chairman of the German Red Cross (DRK) in Forst from 1990 to 2006 .

Gerhard Reinfeld has been married to Jutta Reinfeld since 1967 and has two sons named Dietmar and Andreas.

politics

Reinfeld joined the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD) in 1963 , which he left again in 1989, at the time of political change in the GDR . In 1989/90 he was a member of the Democratic Awakening (DA), chairman of the DA district association forest and deputy state chairman of the party in Brandenburg . After the merger of the DA with the CDU in September 1990, he became a member of the Christian Democrats, whose state executive in Brandenburg he was a member until November 1990.

Reinfeld was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament from 1990 to 1994, where he was a member of the committee for urban development, housing and transport. In parliament he represented the constituency of Guben-Forst I. In May 1990 Reinfeld was elected mayor of the town of Forst (Lausitz). In 2006 he was accused of nepotism and therefore a referendum initiated to vote him out, which was successful on October 8, 2006 with an approval rate of 85%.
