Gerhard Sattler (born December 16, 1955 in Darmstadt ) is a German dermatologist . He specializes in the field of aesthetic surgery .

Life

Gerhard Sattler studied human medicine from 1977 to 1983 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and received his license to practice medicine on December 5, 1983 in Frankfurt am Main. After completing his specialist examination for dermatology on November 9, 1988, he was senior physician at the Dermatology Clinic at Darmstadt Clinic for many years .

He is mainly active in the field of so-called medical aesthetics and the further development of liposuction , using treatment on the awake patient in local tumescent anesthesia or autologous fat treatment . However, Sattler does not have specialist certification as a surgeon or plastic surgeon .

In 1996, Gerhard Sattler founded the Rosenpark Clinic in Darmstadt together with his wife Sonja Sattler . He strives for an interdisciplinary further education in the subject. His main areas of activity are operative dermatology , vein surgery , liposuction , treatments in tumescent local anesthesia , botulinum toxin treatment and wrinkle treatment . He acted as the initiator and organizer of the 1st to 7th Darmstadt Live Symposia for Dermatosurgery and Aesthetics, sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, and as the initiator and organizer of the Venous Surgery Live Congress in 1995 and 2000 in Frankfurt am Main.

In his function as Congress Chairman of the World Liposuction Congress AACS Denver 2002 and St. Louis 2004 and as Congress President ISDS Congress Berlin 2003, Organizing Committee ISDS Congress Dublin 2005, Congress Vice President & Program Chair Istanbul 2006 and Venice 2007, he organizes congresses with the participation of international specialists. Sattler is on the board of directors or advisory boards of several national and international specialist societies in dermatology and aesthetic surgery and travels to international congresses as an invited speaker.

criticism

Sattler operated Brigitte Nielsen several times in the controversial RTL television series Turn old into new . Protests by CDU women in the German Bundestag under the leadership of Gitta Connemann were loud against the broadcast and the associated display of cosmetic surgery .
