Gerhard Tepe

Johann Gerhard Heinrich Tepe (born November 5, 1863 in Großenging near Lindern (Oldenburg) ; † May 26, 1922 in Vechta ) was a German Catholic priest and, for a few days before his death, an episcopal official of the Oldenburg part of the diocese of Münster with an official seat in Vechta .

Life path

Tepe was born as the son of Johann Heinrich Tepe and his wife Maria Catharina. Plümper was born in the Catholic Oldenburger Münsterland . He attended the Antonianum Vechta high school . From 1885 he studied theology at the academy in Münster . There he was ordained a priest on June 25, 1889 . In 1890 he was initially chaplain in Vestrup , Goldenstedt and Essen in Oldenburg . In 1891 he moved to Carum in the same position. In the autumn of 1895 he became president of the recently completed Antonius Konviktes in Vechta, of which he was director until 1910. From 1900 to 1910 he also worked as a teacher at the grammar school in Vechta. From 1910 to 1922 he worked as a pastor in Löningen . On March 23, 1922, Tepe was appointed Episcopal Official of the Diocese of Münster in the Free State of Oldenburg and was introduced to his office on May 16. Ten days later he died of an acute kidney infection. Lambert Meyer followed him in office as Episcopal Official.
