Agostino Bernasconi

Agostino Bernasconi (born October 13, 1914 in Muzzano , † June 28, 1951 in Rivera ) was a Swiss politician ( CVP ). He was a Ticino Grand Councilor and State Councilor .

Life

Bernasconi was born as the son of the upholsterer Luigi Bernasconi and Teresa. Guggiari born. He attended high school in Lugano and then worked in a printing company. From 1934 he worked for the Guardia Luigi Rossi , a youth organization of the Ticino conservative party (today's CVP).

In 1935 he joined the Christian Democratic People's Party in Ticino and became its regional secretary for the Lugano region. He was deputy mayor and municipal secretary of Muzzano , 1944-1947 council of the city of Lugano , Ticino cantonal parliament 1941-1947 and 1947-1951 State Council . There he headed the Department of Health and Military and the Department of Finance and Material Control. He was also President of the Council of State in 1949.

In 1951 he was re-elected, but died in June of the same year in a traffic accident on the way to the pass of Monte Ceneris .
