Michele Barra

Michele Barra (* 27. November 1952 in Ascona , † 20th October 2013 ) was an in Canton Ticino active Swiss politicians and State Council of the Ticino League (dT).

Life

Michele Barra was born in Ascona in 1952. After compulsory school, he completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in Bern , where he later worked as a site manager. Back in the canton of Ticino, he trained as a technical assistant and then became a building contractor. He has been running the family business since 1978.

He has been a member of the Ascona municipal council since 1996, the Grand Council since 2007 and the cantonal government since 2013, where he replaced Marco Borradori . He died in office in October 2013.

Barra was married and had three children.
