Norman Gobbi (born March 23, 1977 in Faido ) is a Swiss politician ( Lega ).

Life

Gobbi, who has a degree in communication sciences and marketing, became a member of the community legislature in his town, Quinto , in 1996 . In 1999 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Ticino , which he presided over for one year from May 2008. On March 1, 2010, he moved up for the retiring Attilio Bignasca in the National Council .

On April 10, 2011, he was elected as State Councilor for the Canton of Ticino and took over the management of the Department of Home Affairs, Justice and Police. Since October 2007, Gobbi, who works in marketing, has also been a board member of the HC Ambrì-Piotta ice hockey club . In November 2015, the SVP parliamentary group of the Federal Assembly nominated him as an official candidate for the 2015 Federal Council election , in which, however, he lost to Guy Parmelin on December 9, 2015 . In military service he reached the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Swiss Army

Gobbi is married and has two children
