Emilio Bossi

Emilio Bossi (born December 31, 1870 in Bruzella , † November 27, 1920 in Lugano ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ). He was the Ticino cantonal parliament and State Council , the National Council and Council of States , free thinkers and followers of Freemasonry .

Life

Emilio Bossi, son of the architect Francesco Bossi from Bruzella , graduated from high school in Lugano and studied law at the University of Geneva . The lawyer and journalist became known for his polemical writings under the pseudonym Milesbo . He vehemently defended the Italianità des Ticino and fought just as fiercely against clericalism .

In 1893 he became editor-in-chief of the magazine Vita Nova , in 1895 he founded the daily L'Idea moderna , at the end of the century he became editor-in-chief of the newspaper Gazzetta Ticinese , which was oriented towards the extreme left, and in 1906 he founded L'Azione , the Organ of the extreme left within the Free Party. In 1920 he became director of the liberal-radical newspaper Il Dovere , published from 1878 in Bellinzona , organ of the Ticino radical-liberal party until 1992 (merger with L'Eco di Locarno).

As a politician, Emilio Bossi was Ticino Gross (1905–1910, 1914–1920) and State Councilor (1910–1914, Department of the Interior); at the federal level National (1914–1920) and Council of States (1920). 1905-1910 he was examining magistrate for the Sottoceneri . As an atheist , he wrote the book Gesù Cristo non è mai esistito
