Paolo Beltraminelli

Paolo Beltraminelli (born September 20, 1961 in Sorengo , legal resident in Bellinzona ) is a Swiss engineer , politician , Ticino Grand Councilor and former State Councilor of the Christian Democratic People's Party (CVP).

Career

He graduated from ETH Zurich with a degree in agricultural engineering in 1986 and is an ETH engineer. As a member of the Democratic People's Party, he joined the Ticino Grand Council in 1991 and was head of the PPD group as well as a member of the administrative and financial commission. From 2000 to 2004 he was councilor of Pregassona and since April 2004 a member of the council of Lugano (Department of Territory, Airport, City Administration and Sport) and Chairman of the Board of Trasporti Pubblici Luganesi (TPL).

Until spring 2011 he was director of the engineering studio Tunesi in Pregassona. Since April 10, 2011, he has been State Councilor and Director of the Health and Social Affairs Department. In 2017, he was blamed for the scandal surrounding the failure to apply to transfer important management tasks to Argo 1. On April 7, 2019, he was no longer elected as a State Councilor.
