Geriatric drug
Under geriatric (plural geriatrics ) refers to drugs which serve to increase the physical and mental capacity of the elderly. They should have a substituting , promoting or stimulating effect.
These include multivitamin preparations, enzymes , lipotropic substances , sex hormones , anabolic steroids or vascular sealing agents, as well as agents in the context of non-specific irritant body therapy.
The Red List performs under the heading geriatrics preparations with the following agents to:
- Phytopharmaceuticals such as ginseng , garlic , hawthorn or mistletoe
- Vitamins like retinol , tocopherol , ascorbic acid and others
- Minerals like magnesium and iron
- Metabolites such as lecithin , glutamic acid , orotic acid or dimethylaminoethanol (Deanol)
- Organ extracts from thymus ; Ribonucleic acids
- Procaine
- Homeopathics
Some of the fabrics are offered in different combinations. Their effectiveness is controversial or refuted.
