German Darts Masters (World Series)

The German Darts Masters is a darts tournament organized by the PDC as part of the World Series of Darts .

The first edition was held in 2017 at Castello Düsseldorf . The Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen was selected for the second tournament on May 25, 2018 .

The first winner of this tournament was the Scot Peter Wright with an 11: 4 victory in the final against the Englishman Phil Taylor .

qualification

The field of participants consists of 16 participants, eight players from the world's best and eight local players.

In 2017, in addition to the top 6 of the PDC Order of Merit, two wildcards were given to Daryl Gurney and Kyle Anderson . These eight players form the eight seeded players in each tournament in the World Series series . In addition to the wildcard participants Max Hopp and Mensur Suljović, the six best players in the Super League Darts were invited as local players .

In 2018, only the top 4 of the Order of Merit were automatically qualified. There were also four wildcards. Martin Schindler and Max Hopp received an invitation from the local players , and there were again six players from the Super League Darts .

Prize money

A total of £ 60,000 in prize money will be awarded to the tournament. The prize money is distributed among the participants as follows:
