Gertrud Buttlar-Elberberg
Gertrud Anna Buttlar-Elberberg (née Gerhartl; born June 12, 1934 in Neunkirchen ) is an Austrian historian .
Life
After finishing secondary school in 1944/45, Gertrud Gerhartl attended the Bundesrealgymnasium Neunkirchen in Lower Austria . From 1952 she studied history and German at the University of Vienna . From 1956 to 1959 she completed the 48th course as an associate member at the Institute for Austrian Historical Research in Vienna (examination work with Leo Santifaller ). In 1957 she was at Alfons Lhotsky with the thesis history of the castle and dominion Steyerberg to Dr. phil. PhD.
In 1959 she became head of the Municipal Collections Museum and Archive Wiener Neustadt . In 1961 she became director and senate councilor. In 1995 the councilor retired. Her research focus is the urban history of Wiener Neustadt .
She was president of the Association of Austrian Archivists . She is also a member of the Association for Regional Studies of Lower Austria and Vienna, the Wiener Neustädter Monument Protection Association and the Vienna Goethe Association .
In 1983 Gerhartl took the family name of her husband, division general Hans Buttlar-Elberberg .
