Gertrud Kille (born January 17, 1925 as Gertrud Schlueter ; † August 6, 1978 in Hamburg ) was a German shot putter and pentathlete .

Life

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , she was fifth with 13.84 m.

In 1947 , 1948 , 1951 and 1952 (with the national record of 14.61 m) she became German champion in the shot put and in 1947 German champion in pentathlon .

Gertrud Kille started for SV St. Georg from 1895 and stood out for her self-knitted shorts , which she preferred to the long, wide pants of the sports fashion of the time. After taking part in the Olympics, she ended her sporting career to set up a car dealership in Glinde with her husband , which she took over after her husband's death. She died in an accident at the age of 53.
