Gesine Reichstein

Gesine Reichstein , née Kellermann (* 1955 in Nordhorn , Lower Saxony ) is a German teacher , radio presenter and Low German author .

Life

Reichstein grew up on a farm in the county of Bentheim speaking the Low German language. She only learned standard German at school. After graduating from high school , she studied German , Low German, politics and folklore at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . She then worked as a teacher until 1994, including two years in Bytom , Poland .

From 1994 to 2018 Reichstein was an editor and presenter for Low German at Radio Bremen . There she also spoke the Low German news. In addition, she was secretary of the Bevensen-Tagung association from 1978 to 1990, where she was responsible for the chronicle volumes of this conference.

Gesine Reichmann is married and has lived in Bremen since 1982 .
