Ghorahi, formerly Tribhuwannagar [त्रिभुवननगर], is a city ( municipality ) in the interior Terai of Nepal at an altitude of 625 to 1350  m .

It is the administrative seat of Dang Deukhuri District in No. 5 Province . The city emerged in 1979 from the former Village Development Committees Ghorahi and Sewar Bangaun and was originally named after the former Nepali king Tribhuwan.

The urban area covers 74.45 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the city of Ghorahi had 62,928 inhabitants (30,110 of whom were male) in 15,485 households.
