Gilbert Guillaume Marie-Jean Aubry (born May 10, 1942 in Saint-Louis , Réunion ) is a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Saint-Denis-de-La Réunion .

Life

Gilbert Aubry studied in the seminary of La Croix-Valmer and at the Pontifical Gregorian University . On August 23, 1970 he was ordained a priest for the diocese of Saint-Denis-de-La Réunion.

On November 20, 1975, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the bishop of Saint-Denis-de-La Réunion. The episcopal ordination received his his predecessor Georges-Henri Guibert CSSP on May 2, 1976; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Port-Louis , Mauritius, Jean Margéot , and the Bishop of Port Victoria , Seychelles, Félix Paul .

He was Chairman of the Bishops' Conference of the Indian Ocean Islands from 1989 to 1996 and 2002 to 2006 .
