Gilbert Gascard alias Tibet (born October 29, 1931 in Marseille , † January 3, 2010 in Roquebrune-sur-Argens ) was a French cartoonist . He is best known for the detective stories about the journalist Rick Master (originally Ric Hochet ) and the funny comic Chick Bill , for which he also designed the scenario.

life and work

When Gascard was five years old, his family emigrated with him to Belgium . He began his drawing career in 1947. During this time he met André-Paul Duchâteau , with whom he later worked several times. From 1949 Gascard published drawings in smaller magazines, in 1951 he began to work for the Tintin as an illustrator. His first short stories were published there from 1952. The humorous western series Chick Bill was started in 1953; a total of 69 albums were released by her. By Ric Hochet , gas card created in 1955, first appeared a few short stories; from 1961 André-Paul Duchâteau wrote the lyrics, and a series of 78 albums was created. In the series Les 3 A , which was published between 1962 and 1967, he supported his then assistant Mittéï . In 1971 and 1972 a series of cartoons was published in Tintin under the title Tibetière . Gascard's last comic series was Aldo Remy , which was aimed at an adult audience and released a total of three albums from 2006 onwards. Aldo Remy's last album was only released after his death.

Other Gascard comics included El Mocco le terrible from 1954 and the series Le club des peur-de-rien , published between 1958 and 1979.
