history

To the wasteland , which was originally called St. Gilg am Moos , belonged a small church, which was demolished in the turmoil of secularization and dedicated to the helper in need, Aegidius . This church has been documented since 1313, the destination of a much-visited pilgrimage that takes place every year in September. From the goods and livestock market held there in this context, the still existing folk festival known far beyond Abensberg's borders, the Gillamoos, developed . In 2013, the Gillamoos Chapel of St. Giles was built on a historical site to commemorate the demolished church.

economy

Agriculture is practiced in the wilderness.
