“In our artistic work we speak of the blacks and the whites, highly incorrect and imprecise, but therefore often close to the thinking that determines reality, which is incorrect and imprecise. We think in two systems and make performances that are liked and hated by European and African audiences with a thousand misunderstandings. Don't put things into perspective, don't enlighten, don't ironize, but insist until it lives! "

- Monika Gintersdorfer

“With performative transcontinental lines of sight between Europe and Africa, which cross far more than culture, let alone just deal with dance, the duo Gintersdorfer / Klaßen has blown the boundaries of dance theater. The director Monika Gintersdorfer, who was awarded the Caroline Neuber Prize of the City of Leipzig in March 2016, and the visual artist Knut Klaßen work discursively with their Ivorian-German ensemble, with clever and subversive wit, subverting stereotypes and asking translation questions.
