Gion Mathias Cavelty (born April 4, 1974 in Chur ) is a Swiss writer .

Life

Gion Mathias Cavelty is the son of the lawyer and politician Luregn Mathias Cavelty . From 1993 he studied Italian and Romansh at the universities of Freiburg im Üechtland and Zurich . Today he lives in Zurich.

Cavelty is the author of two novel trilogies called The Quifezit Trilogy and The Andouillette Trilogy , in which numerous literary influences are mixed. Cavelty's best-known book Finally Non-Readers is a parody of the advisory literature: According to the author, it aims to wean the reader from reading.

Cavelty writes regularly for the satirical magazine Nebelspalter . Until February 2009 he wrote the television review of pure reason in Die Weltwoche . He also wrote for the Swiss tabloid Blick , including the article Everyone singen, only the beef fillet remains mute about the music star participant and Eurovision singer Piero Esteriore , who on October 4, 2007 out of anger about this article with the Mercedes his mother drove into the front door of the Ringier building in Zurich.
