Giovanni Battista Deti (born February 16, 1580 in Florence , † July 13, 1630 in Rome ) was an Italian curial cardinal and bishop .

Life

His family was distantly related to the Aldobrandini and therefore to Pope Clement VIII . On March 3, 1599 he was promoted to cardinal. On March 17, 1599 he was assigned the Cardinal Diaconia Sant'Adriano al Foro and on December 15, 1599 he moved to the Diakonie Santa Maria in Cosmedin . On 28 February 1605 he was selected by Pietro Aldobrandini deacon by Pope Paul V for priests ordained.

He took part in the conclave in March 1605 and May 1605.

On October 6, 1612 he rose to cardinal priest of Santi Marcellino e Pietro .

He also took part in the 1621 conclave .

On June 7, 1623 he was appointed cardinal bishop of Albano appointed and on June 24, 1623 Cardinal Ottavio Bandini with the assistance of Alfonso Gonzaga and Federico Bali Sera Bartolomeo Cornaro in San Silvestro al Quirinale bishop ordained . In the same year he took part in the 1623 conclave .

On March 2, 1626 he was appointed Cardinal Bishop of Frascati and on March 9, 1626 Cardinal Subdean and Cardinal Bishop of Porto and Santa Rufina . On August 20, 1629 he was appointed Cardinal Dean and Cardinal Bishop of Ostia e Velletri .

He died on July 13, 1630 in Rome and was buried in the Aldobrandini chapel in Santa Maria sopra Minerva .
