Ottavio Bandini (born October 25, 1558 in Florence , † August 1, 1629 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal and archbishop of Fermo .

He studied in Florence, Paris, Salamanca and graduated from Pisa with a law degree. He then began during the pontificate of Gregory XIII. to work as a surplus Apostolic Protonotary at the Curia and later became a consultant for the Apostolic Signature .

He was Deputy Governor of Fermo and Governor of Marken and Borgo .

He was appointed Prefect of the Conclave of September 1590 and of the Conclave of October 1590 by the College of Cardinals . Afterwards he was vice delegate in Bologna . On June 19, 1595 he was appointed Archbishop of Fermo. The episcopal ordination took place on June 25, 1595 in the Church of San Silvestro al Quirinale by Cardinal Alessandro de 'Medici and the co- consecrators Ludovico de Torres , Archbishop of Monreale, and Giovanni Francesco de San Gregorio , Bishop of Acqui.

In the consistory of June 5, 1596 , he was by Pope Clement VIII. To Cardinal Priest of the titular church of Santa Sabina created. He became a legate in Romagna and in the Marche and governor of Ascoli and Montalto. On April 10, 1606, he resigned as archbishop. From January 9, 1612 to January 7, 1613 he was chamberlain of the Holy College of Cardinals . On September 16, 1615 he moved to the titular church of San Lorenzo in Lucina . From 1618 to 1621 he was Cardinal Protopriester , then Cardinal Bishop of Palestrina , 1624 Cardinal Bishop of Porto-Santa Rufina and from 1626 Cardinal Dean and Cardinal Bishop of Ostia and Velletri .

He died on August 1, 1629 at the age of 71 and was buried in San Silvestro al Quirinale .
