Borgo ( Corsican : U Borgu ) is a French commune with 8,760 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in Corsica . It is the capital of the canton of the same name , to which three other municipalities belong.

geography

The core of the small town about 20 kilometers south of Bastia is on a hill on the edge of the Corsican mountains.

Neighboring communities are: Biguglia in the north , Lucciana in the south , Rutali in the north-west and Prunelli-di-Casacconi in the south-west . In the east, the municipality borders the Tyrrhenian Sea . The beach lake Étang de Biguglia is surrounded by the Réserve naturelle de l'Étang de Biguglia nature reserve .
