San-Martino-di-Lota (Corsican: San Martinu di Lota ) is a French commune with 2,901 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Corse department on the Mediterranean island of Corsica . It is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Cap Corse and belongs to the arrondissement of Bastia . The inhabitants are called Sammartinaghji .

San-Martino-di-Lota is located on the Tyrrhenian Sea . San-Martino-di-Lota is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Santa-Maria-di-Lota in the north, Farinole in the west, Patrimonio in the southwest and Ville-di-Pietrabugno in the south.
San-Martino-di-Lota consists of ten hamlets: Aneto , Mola , Casanova , Acqualto , Oratoggio , Castagneto , Mucchiete , Canale , Santorio and Les Marines with the localities of Licciola , Grigione and Pietrenara .
