Pietracorbara is a municipality in the French department of Haute-Corse on the Mediterranean island of Corsica . It belongs to the canton of Cap Corse in the Arrondissement of Bastia . The residents call themselves Pietracorbarais or Curbareni .
geography
Pietracorbara is located on the Cap Corse and borders the Tyrrhenian Sea to the east . The neighboring communities are Cagnano in the north, Sisco in the south, Ogliastro in the southwest, Canari and Barrettali in the west and Luri in the northwest. The Monte Alticcione is a 1139 m high mountain in the north of the municipality. The settlement area is an average of 350 meters above sea level and consists of the main town Marine de Pietracorbara and the hamlets of Plaine de Pietracorbara, Capanajo, Ponticellu, Orneto, Oreta, Pino, Selmacce, Pietronacce, Cortina and Lapedina.
