Giovanni Funiati

Giovanni Funiati (* 1991 in Göttingen ) is an Italian - French actor .

Life

Funiati was born to Italian-French parents. His parents spoke at home Italian and French with him, German learned Funiati in school.

He completed his acting training from 2015 to 2019 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart . During his training he made guest appearances with the Junge Ensemble Stuttgart at the Wilhelma-Theater . In 2018/2019 he was a member of the drama studio at the Stuttgart State Theater . He has been a guest at the Stuttgart State Theater since 2019. So far he has played there a. a. John Savage in a stage version of the Orwell novel Brave New World (director: Philipp Rosendahl ) and the travel agent Pfeifer in the socially critical Hauptmann drama Die Weber (director: Georg Schmiedleitner ).

As a film actor, he has worked in international cinema and TV productions, including a. in Liliana Cavani's two-part television film His Name was Franziskus (2014), in the Italian drama La rugiada di San Giovanni (2016) by director Christian Spaggiari about the " Bettola Massacre " in Emilia-Romagna in 1944 and in the horror thriller L'ultima notte (2018) by Francesco Barozzi.

In the ZDF - "Herzkino" series, Funiati played his first major television lead role as "smarter" and "attractive" surfer and surf instructor Miguel Silva in the television film A Summer in the Algarve , which will first be broadcast in October 2019.

He also worked as a radio play speaker for the SWR . Giovanni Funiati lives in Stuttgart .
